What a fantastic product. A true rarity - an attractive and effective bit of outdoor kit for not alot of money if you can get it at the bargain price i did. The materials are all quality both inside and outside. The omni-heat idea really works - this jacket is very, very warm without being bulky. Due to the lack of bulk, this jacket also looks good on and doesn't make you look like the michelin man which the NF Nuptse and Berghaus Akka does(which also cost upto 3 times the price). The rain proofing is adequate, and if you are expecting this to keep you dry in a deluge, well then you haven't done your pre-outdoor prep and you should have layered up instead. That said, it will protect you in a surprise shower.

As to its uses, it looks great on with jeans and due to the heat it means even in winter you can get away with just a Tee underneath. Outdoor wise, its a warm-down or base camp jacket; possibly a ski jacket, but not a hiking jacket due to the heat and the sweat you...

I have the hood version of this jacket. I originally was thinking to buy either Free Fall II or this jacket, but in the end I've got the Free Fall which I am not too happy with, because it's not as warm as I expected. Then this jacket (Shimmer Me Timbers) showed up for a great price on another website and it was too good to miss it so I got it as well. This jacket has a great feel and is really warm. I like it a lot, it's simply great. Its not big, but it keeps me warm, which is what I've needed. Much much better than the Free Fall II Parka, altough Shimmer is not waterproof. So now I will be using the Free Fall for the spring / summer and Shimmer for the winter.
