Superb running jacket
Tried on several running jackets in shops (Ronhill & Nike).
This Gore jacket is in a different league. Brilliant quality, very lightweight.
Advice I was given was to go for size above my normal fit, I would recommend this as I'm a 38" chest but find the large is a perfect fit(edium would have been too tight.)

Typical Gore quality
The Essential jacket is just what is says: essential and nothing more. The only features are the velcro wrist bands and two pockets and that's it.

The fit is, as usual, tight, I'm 186cm/69kg and the medium sized jacket was fine for me with adequate lenght of the sleeves and torso.
Breathability is ok but ventilation is an issue as there are no ventilated back panels or arm pit zips. The liner is a simple a mesh so the jacket is basically a shell.

The jacket is fine for low to medium intensity work-outs in temperatures below 10C, in warmer weather or at higher intensity, the jacket gets too warm. For some reason, the Gore stuff just feels good and oozes quality which always makes me splash out the extra money on these items. It's an emotional thing but brands like Gore and Pearl Izumi just produce running appearal that is a notch above the rest.
